Sophia Choukas-Bradley, Ph.D., (she/her) is the Clinical Psychology Lead at the Center for Digital Thriving and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. She is the director of the Teen and Young Adult Lab, which conducts research on adolescent social media use, gender and sexuality, body image, and mental health.

Sophia received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brown University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Western Psychiatric Hospital.

As a psychologist, researcher, and educator, Sophia teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on adolescent development, provides clinical supervision, and regularly speaks and writes about adolescent social media use and mental health. She has published over 80 academic papers and book chapters and she has received awards for both her research and teaching. Sophia and her wife live in Pittsburgh, PA.
